In January of 2016, I was approached by a committee member of the “Ladders Up for the Foundation“, to create 2 original pieces of artwork to be auctioned off LIVE at their upcoming fundraising event April 30th, 2016.
Ladders’ Up for the Foundation is a charitable event and online auction held annually to raise funds for the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation. The event takes place every spring during the Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs Conference in Toronto.
This charity is of special significance to me, as my own father, Andy DesLauriers, lost his life during a call of duty in June of 1992, so I eagerly agreed to create these pieces for the auction.
This particular piece is a collage featuring some of the most important aspects of the Ottawa memorial. It includes the wall itself, the bronze firefighter statue, the lone pine, and a Canadian Firefighter helmet with the CFFF (Canadian Fallen Firefighter Foundation) patch on the front. For more details on these memorial features, visit the CFFF website.
The 16 x 20 framed original was sold during the LIVE auction portion of the April 30th event. Many bids, but only one winner!
We now have high-quality prints available for purchase. $5.00 from every purchase will be donated back to the Canadian Fallen Firefighter Foundation.
For the month of May 2016, these prints will be offered for $20.00 off their regular price of $110.00 Canadian $.
11 x 14 colour, high quality paper, professionally produced print.
